Goodbye Autumn

Autumn has been such a beautiful season this year. In the past, I have always approached the season as the gap between summer and winter where the weather just gets colder, but this year feels like one that has really taught me to appreciate the beauty of red fallen leaves and the chilly, yet long and sunny days.

It wasn't until my walk home today when I picked up a few pretty leaves that I realised how many autumn coloured home decor I actually have around my room. Featured in the photos above are just a few of the many that have been lying around on my desk and looked pretty with the leaves creating a burgundy theme for my decor.

Pressing leaves is a good way to preserve their beauty so I have placed them inside books under heavy weights. If you haven't done this before, you can look up "flower pressing" on YouTube, a sweet and simple DIY projects for preserving fresh flowers and leaves. Once mine are done, I'll be able to permanently make them a part of my room display.
